Name: Laelynn Morbane
Nickname/Alias: "The Cat Burglar." Age: 16 Gender: Female Height: 4'9 Weight: 80lbs Race: Human Organization: Intergalactic Mercenary Guild Rank: D [16 REP] Orientation: Demisexual/Single Alignment: Chaotic Neutral {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Appearance} Physical Description: Due to a mix of genetics and malnutrition in her younger days, Laelynn is shorter and smaller than her age would suggest, standing below five feet and with a lithe frame. In addition to this, she tends to style her charcoal colored hair in a tomboyish style below ear level, and possesses sharply colored, bright emerald eyes, which can make her stand out in a crowd. Beneath the aesthetic level, there lays a certain energy and presence within her gaze, showing a deep level of intellect, as she’s not the type to simply “look” at her surroundings, but rather, observe and analyze every detail of it. Despite her tomboyish attitude, her face does take influence from her mother, devoid of blemishes with a very smooth complexion, thin eyebrows, delicately structured face, and large, rounded eyes. As such, even with her her lack of care for make up, she tends to have a natural form of beauty or cuteness even without it, despite her tomboyish appearance and mannerisms. Clothing: Being fairly pragmatic, Laelynn strays away from dresses which could easily be torn or snagged in machinery, and skirts that would give an uncomfortable draft. Instead, she tends to lean towards clothes that are practical in nature, have little chance of snagging, and are easy to move in. In most cases, especially when working on a new project, she usually sports form fitting earthy brown jeans, and a black, sleeveless shirt, though the thin shoulder straps are occasionally wrapped into bows when not working on a project. Depending on the occasion and weather however, she has been known to change it up slightly. Such as in hot weather, she’ll usually swap out the jeans for a pair of shorts in a similar color. Inversely, in cold weather, she’ll usually cover up with a blue and black “Cat Hoodie,” complete with fluffy ears on the hood and sleeves that nearly cover her hands, adorned with paw prints on the palm side of the sleeves. Accessories: N/A (For now.) Picture: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Laelynn} {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Personality} Put succinctly, Laelynn is a wildcard filled with paradoxes. She’s fairly pragmatic, not one to rush ideas or plans, and preferring to consider all the possibilities of a given situation, as well as the implications of her actions. In a sense, she can at times be the victim of over thinking simple things. At the same time, however, she can be extremely whimsical and impulsive, making decisions based on excitement or emotion, such as the prospect of a new invention, or being pushed over the edge to anger. In terms of morality, she is mostly neutral, not particularly interested in causing discomfort or inconvenience to others, and in fact, hates unnecessary violence. Despite this, she is fully willing to do what she deems as fit for her own survival or benefit, as long as it doesn’t affect innocent bystanders, having previously only stolen from the corrupt or wealthy. Even when breaking this creed, it was done out of sheer necessity, only taking the bare minimum of credits she needed to live, as to not harm their business or well being noticeably, and always with a tinge of guilt. As such, it could definitely be discerned that though she is a proficient thief, she lives with a code of honor and moral principles. Despite this code, Laelynn can occasionally be quite avaricious and stingy, looking for ways to cut costs in personal expenses while looking to maximize her own wealth, though this could be attributed to her time in poverty and homelessness. As another inverse point, deep down, she hides a sense of shame from her actions and career, knowing her father’s legacy, and how opposite her life choices have been compared to theirs. Despite this, or rather, in part to it, and fully aware of how great her intelligence is, she holds herself in great pride, bullheadedly wishing to take tasks on in her own way, and finding the idea of asking for help as embarrassing. Over all, despite the many paradoxes in her personality, at the core, Laelynn is a kind, honorable, and very intelligent person who tries to make the best of what she’s given, and if the chance provides itself, help others she can relate to. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{History} Laelynn was born on Earthland a long time ago during the late era of the Blight Crisis, the daughter of one of the great heros of the time, Jaxus Morbane. Though too young to remember much, Laelynn was always well protected by her parents, her father a veteran of the Great War, and Boscan War preceding, constantly on the move to strike out on the blight, never home for very long. Likewise, her mother was a powerful mage in her own right, always keeping a watchful eye on Laelynn. Sadly, the Exodus reached it’s final stages, Jaxus was killed in action, leaving Laelynn’s mother a widow, and Laelynn without a father. Despite this, due to their heroic actions, along with other great heros, their ship managed to take off into space, leaving their once great homeland, presumably forever to never be seen again. In a strange twist of fate, however, their ship was one of the few caught in a warp storm, sending them and the rest of the passengers far into the future, nearly one thousand years ahead, in fact. Finding themselves close to the now colonized planet, Elseima, Laelynn and her mother became refugees which settled there as the confusion and chaos died down. Eventually, they got full citizenship, and Laelynn’s mother opened up a pawn shop, specializing in magic and strange items, taking advantage of her knowledge of such things in the past to support herself and her young daughter. Though trying her best, the business grew quick, rapidly taking away much of the time her mother had to spend time with her daughter. Growing quickly though, Laelynn found a way to kill her boredom, usually breaking into her mother’s back stock to play with the inventory, much to her parent’s annoyance. Despite adding further security measures, Laelynn always managed to get through anything her mother's set up. Eventually, it came to be realized that Laelynn possessed a natural aptitude for the current time’s technology, with a dabble of intuition in magic devices. Relenting and hoping to help her grow, her mother eventually would begin to give her stock to experiment with when the income of the shop as high enough to support them. This would go on for quite some time, before tragedy struck. While Laelynn had spent a majority of her time in the present, her mother’s immune system was not accustomed to the environment, even with properly administered vaccines, leading her to contract a deadly virus. Thought fighting against it for her daughter’s sake, she eventually passed in their home, right beside Laelynn, who at the time, despite being young, tried her best as a caretaker. Now an orphan, Laelynn had a shocking realization. She was now truly alone, with no one to support her, on a planet she never truly came to understand. The idea of adoption was a horrifyingly scary concept to her, in that she risked losing her identity, and while her mother home schooled her when not on the job, the idea of being “integrated” into Elseima’s society terrified her to the core. With a great sadness in her heart, and a heaviness in her soul, Laelynn resolved herself to the only option she saw possible. She’d disappear off the map, permanently. Using her mother’s keys to the shop, she raided as many materials and magical items as she could, and took off into the darkness of the night, never to be seen ever again...or at least, that’s what she had made it appear as. Over the course of multiple months, Laelynn’s identity records, both written and computerized had disappeared without a trace, and a string of petty heists began to increase in the streets of Elseima, seemingly getting slightly more ambitious with every passing month. In fact, with the only records of the heists being a mysterious, armored, “Cat Burglar” who always seemed to disappear as fast as they were spotted, if they were at all, the incidents always remained unsolved. In reality, it was Laelynn, who had taken to crime as a way to feed herself, and occasionally, outfit and support her addiction of tinkering with technology. Homeless, cold, hungry, and constantly afraid of capture from the slightest slip up, this went on for years, all before one fateful, coincidental encounter... The most peculiar thing about the suit however, is the tinted visor, which is illuminated by a one way set of blue lights in shape of a cat like face, or more correctly, “emoji.” Depending on the circumstances, Laelynn can change the expression or what is being displayed by thought alone, but it also can act as a mood ring at times, immediately changing to a proper emote when stronger emotions are present. Lastly, as this emoji system is one way, it does not affect Laelynn’s ability to see outside of the helmet. Overall, the suit weights seven lbs.
