Elemental Magic
Elemental magic is one of if not the most broad category of the specific magic systems, and an endless amount of personalized magics can from it. On BNG there are 11 main elements, although chances are if your character's magic manipulates a certain thing for offense, defense, and support, they are probably some type of elemental mage.
Fundamental Elements
Outlandish Elements
Ethereal Elements
As previously mentioned, many other elements exist, some considered a combination of two elements, such as water and fire making the composite element steam, and others such as blood being variants of a single element, in this case water. A character may do a great number of things within their element or elements of choice, and such is more determined by a character's magical description then their magic's classification as "elemental." One thing that is unique to elemental mages is their ability to transform into their element, however if your character has multiple magics or uses two or more elements within one magic they cannot get this technique. Other than that, as a general rule of thumb a character only able to manipulate one element will have a more focused magic whereas a mage capable of manipulating multiple will be more well rounded, although less powerful in any particular area as a result.
